Human beings, filled with various attachments, are unable to fully experience the so-called ‘absolute freedom.’ So, what about AI? This performance art piece integrates the creative power of ChatGPT, generating suggestions for performance materials, steps, and scene settings through multiple interactive dialogues. Throughout the process, we strive to respect the original ideas, making only necessary adjustments. Ultimately, this performance art piece is acted out by real people and presented in the form of a video.

This work explores the true essence of ‘freedom’ in the creative collaboration between humans and AI. However, does AI genuinely understand the concept of ‘freedom,’ or is it simply responding to certain linguistic elements? While following the generated steps during the performance, are human performers constrained in some way, or do they find a deeper sense of ‘freedom’ in the process?

This piece attempts to provoke the audience’s reflection on the unique relationship between humans and machines, as well as how to find genuine creative freedom in such a collaboration. For performance art theory, this is a cross-disciplinary attempt, and an exploration of the impact of artificial intelligence in the art field and its potential value.
